The Restoration

The Parliament wanted to overthrow King James II because he was Roman Catholic, and the last Roman Catholic which was Queen Mary, who went on a killing spree of all Protestant followers. Everyone was afraid this would happen to them again since there was a Roman Catholic and the thrown and also because King James II was about the have a son who would be Catholic also, so that brought more pressure to the Parliament to do away the the king. Because of this continuance of the Catholics on the thrown was a worry to King James II because of how past royalty was usually overthrown. So instead of the King getting overthrown in the old way he decided to flee with his family.

This revolution was important because nobody had to be killed for new royalty to take over the thrown. This revolution to me also showed how some people were also evolved enough to come up with another way to get what they want without using violence to get it. Although they didnt know what the king was actually going to do to the people that weren't following his religion, which to me he should have been given a chance. The Glorious Revolution is the first one I've ever even heard of that didn't end in lives being lost.
